One of the things we love most about our job is all of the amazing people we meet along the way. We were with Jay and Theresa on their wedding day back in 2009, and last summer, we had the honor of photographing them on their one-year anniversary! Shortly after that anniversary shoot, they told us that their cute little family would be growing, and we were THRILLED for them!! It’s such an incredible feeling to be able to document all of these milestones in the lives of our couples. We were so psyched to do this maternity session for J and T, and we’re even MORE excited to meet little Benjamin! :)
This is Cowy, who is beyond excited about being a big brother!
The preggo version of you is just gorgeous, T :)
Theresa really wanted some shots against a black backdrop, so we brought one along. I love the way they turned out!
Theresa and Jason – thank you SO much for allowing us to be a part of such a special time in your lives! We had so much fun making these awesome images with you! You guys are going to be amazing parents, and we can’t wait to meet little Ben! Much love to you always!! :)

I think it’s safe to say that Spring is really here, judging by all of the new life that we’re seeing in our gardens; however, after you’ve lived in upstate/western New York all of your life, you come to terms with the fact that it’s never actually “safe” to say anything regarding the weather. Honestly? We could have a huge snowstorm with three feet of snow tomorrow, and I would not be at all shocked. Depressed and horrified, yes, but shocked? Not in the slightest. The ridiculously unpredictable weather that we have around these parts does have its benefits, though. It has helped me to live a life that is more “in the moment,” because it is entirely possible that we will have a sunny Spring-y day today, and have massive amounts of snow on the ground tomorrow. For example, today (as soon as I finish my blogging, of course) we’re going to spend the day outside, raking up leaves and preparing our garden beds for the growing season. We’re going to walk our dog in the woods, together, with no coats, hats, or gloves…maybe we’ll bring our cameras along, and maybe we won’t…but, we’ll be together. Even though I have a ridiculous amount of work to do (as always), we’re making the conscious decision to put that on hold – just for today – so that we can enjoy the precious warmth of the sun, that we’ve been missing for so long. Life is so short…the work will all still be there tomorrow, but this gorgeous and amazingly warm sun may not. How many chances will I have in this life to spend the first warm day of Spring outside with Ben and Lily? There will always be more work to do, than chances to spend time with those you love. Take advantage of those chances whenever you can. :)
Our first wedding of 2011 was a tremendous success (as well as a rip-roarin’ good time)!! Kim and Andrew are sweet, kind, easy-going people, with HUGE hearts – the kind of people who make us LOVE doing what we do. Theirs was the kind of wedding day that makes us forget that we’re actually working, because we’re having so much fun doing it. I love it when we have days like that.
I started out the day at Kim’s parents’ house to document some getting ready action. :)
Wedding day flowers and an adorable card from Andrew!!
It was quite the cold, snowy, February day, but no one seemed to really notice. :)
Andrew and the guys made a quick stop at the Hyatt to drop off their cars, and get picked up by the limo. Ben was there to grab a few shots before the limo arrived. This was definitely my favorite!
Ben grabbed these next two shots at the church, and I am totally in love with BOTH.
How amazing is this banner?? I cracked up when I saw this being marched down the aisle!
There is so much to love about this shot…
After the ceremony, we headed back over to the warmth of the Hyatt to grab a few portraits. All of these are super fun. :)
Then, it was over to Pearl Street, where we grabbed a few more quick portraits before heading in…LOVE these.
The details and decor were seriously INCREDIBLE. The chandelier added a touch of elegance, as did the whole black and white theme…just GORGEOUS!
The black and white themed candy bar was off the chain…no other way to describe it…truly. Oh, and yogurt cover malted milk balls are, like, my favorite kind of candy EVER. Well, pretty much yogurt covered ANYTHING is my favorite.
Kim’s dad made this awesome cake!! How cool is that? I totally love the kitty cake toppers, too (I have a minor cat obsession).
This was the first time I have seen anyone use paper lanterns at a Pearl Street wedding, and I was LOVING it! It looked amazing! Sooooooo, if you’re having your wedding at Pearl Street, this is most def something to consider. :)
The dance floor was jammin’!! There were some CHARACTERS at this wedding, for REAL. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Seriously though, Kim and Andrew, your family and friends are all so fantastic. We had a blast. :)
Kim and Andrew in their photo booth…LOVE it.
It was maybe 15 degrees that night, but we managed to grab just a few night shots for good measure. ;)
Kim and Andrew – thanks SO much for allowing us to tell the story of your wedding day with our cameras! We had such an amazing time!! You guys are a wonderful couple, and we wish you both all the very best! :)
