Hey friends! I’m back today with another installment of “Jenn loves Tifft Nature Preserve!” Hahaha! I mean, really…I’ll never get sick of shooting here. Andrea and Colin are super adorable. We photographed Colin’s sister’s wedding a few years back (holy cow time flies!!!), so it was really cool to get to work with him again. Colin is from Buffalo, and Andrea is from SoCal. They were married in San Diego, but wanted to have engagement photos taken in Buffalo, so here we are at one of my fave spots in our beautiful city. ;)
It was actually on this very day that C + A introduced me to Red Jacket Riverfront Park, which is now one of my go-to locations for photo sessions. I had a slight obsession with it last summer that really hasn’t subsided, so I’m sure I’ll be back this summer.
All you have to do is scroll to see how completely in love these two are. It’s totally obvious; they made my job really easy. The inclusion of Buster the dog really made my day, too. You should probably go follow his Instagram right now. I followed shortly after meeting him and now I’m a devoted fan for life.
Loren and Kyle are getting married THIS WEEKEND, so I thought this would be the perfect time to celebrate by sharing their engagement session!! I met Kyle first because he hired me to photograph his proposal to Loren, which happened ON THE STAGE at Shea’s Performing Arts Center. It’s a great story, but I like it way better the way Kyle tells it, so here it is in his words:
“I wanted to plan something special that would be a memorable way to end Loren’s winter break, before she went back to complete her Master’s degree in biological sciences and clinical research projects.
We really enjoy going to museums, art exhibits, and anything with a historically relevant past when we have time off; I knew I had to plan the proposal around those activities so she wouldn’t be suspicious. After I heard Shea’s Theater offers historical tours, I figured this would be the perfect setting for the proposal. It’s an impressive theater, and we hadn’t been to the theater district in downtown Buffalo after all the recent renovations.
I coordinated with Jenn and the employees at Shea’s to keep everything a secret from Loren. Jenn and the Shea’s tour guide acted as if nothing was unusual, and did an excellent job leading up to the part of the historical tour where we were allowed to walk across the stage. Once we were on stage, I asked Loren to marry me and we were able to have the perfect proposal photo to capture the moment forever.”
It was so sweet and so perfect!! I got to meet Loren after she realized that I was in on the secret, and she is just as sweet as she is beautiful. It was such a wonderful thing to be a part of! We met up a few months later to shoot their engagement session, at the barn where Loren’s horses are boarded and then at Akron Falls Park, and these are my favorites from that day. :)
Congrats, L + K!!! Can’t wait to celebrate with you guys this weekend!
