This was such an awesome session! We tried to shoot Sandy and Brian over their Spring Break in April (they both work at schools), but it literally rained every single day that week, so that didn’t work out. Then, we rescheduled for the day before Easter at the Botanical Gardens (an indoor location that works well for threateningly rainy weather), but that didn’t end up working out either. We shoot at the Gardens all the time, so it never occurred to us that there might be something going on there; but, as soon as we pulled up, we were like, “ummmmmmm, yeah…this isn’t gonna work.” The Easter Bunny was there, there were little kids EVERYWHERE with baskets of eggs, and the whole place was in a general state of chaos. We waited until Sandy and Brian arrived, and standing in the parking lot surrounded by egg-obsessed children, we all agreed that it would be a good idea to just wait a few weeks for the nice Spring weather to emerge. :)
I’m sooooo glad we decided to wait, because we lucked out with one of the most gorgeous and amazing Spring days ever! We started out at Glen Falls Park in Williamsville, and this first shot is definitely one of my favorites from the day. I love the sun’s harsh shadows, and the natural symmetry of the trees.Another super favorite…doesn’t Sandy’s red hair look amazing next to the bright yellow flowers? LOVE. I have no clue what these dangling tree things are, but they are AWESOME…they look like the mini corn cobs in my green curry with tofu from Thai House…or maybe it’s just dinner time, and I’m getting hungry… LOVE this one. If I were Sandy and Brian, I would TOTALLY hang this on my wall. ;) After Glen Falls, S and B stopped home to pick up their adorable little Rosie dog, and we headed over to Ellicott Creek Park in Tonawanda for few more shots. This next series of shots is hilarious…I call it, “An Evening with Rosie: The Chronicles of a Stubborn Yet Adorable Little Beagle.” Isn’t she darling, though? Seriously. This structure is always cool to shoot around…we had some fun with it. ;) Awesome…LOVE it.
Sandy and Brian – thanks SO much for hanging out with us! We had a great time, and really enjoyed getting to know you both (and Rosie girl) a little bit! We are sooooo looking forward to the wedding!! Can’t wait! :)
