zach’s bar mitzvah

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of shooting our second ever Bar Mitzvah, and we had such a great time! Zach did a phenomenal job with his Torah portion; clearly, he made his family very proud. :)

Since no photography is allowed during the actual service, we met up with Zach and his family bright and early at the absolutely gorgeous Temple Beth Zion for a pre-service photo session.  Our two favorite features of TBZ are the incredible stained glass, and the insane pipe organ, so we made sure to work those in to a few shots!

As I mentioned, no photography is allowed during the actual service, but Ben managed to grab this shot at the very end, when the crowd was dispersing.  It’s kind of awesome to get a quick glimpse of the action.  ;)
Later that evening, we headed over to Brookfield Country Club for an absolutely fabulous M&M themed celebration!!
Not only were there M&Ms everywhere you looked (YUM), but the decor was out of this world thanks to event planning mastermind, Bonnie Gersh of The Party Line – she never ceases to amaze.
Zach makes his grand entrance…
….and the crowd went wild (with a little help from the most amazing entertainment company we’ve ever experienced – Sole Power Productions)!
Zach’s father, Steve, gave a beautiful speech about his son…

Then, there was a bunch of eating, drinking, and being merry, followed by….AN EPIC DANCE FLOOR!!  Granted, this was a super fun crowd to begin with, but I have to give yet another shout out to Sole Power Productions, who really worked their tails off to make sure the dance floor was live non-stop.  Whatever they charge for their services, they are worth DOUBLE that and then some.  Good times were had by all on this dance floor.  ;)
