kristen + brian (rock the dress!)

Filed in rock the dress shot by on at

Most people who read/follow/whatever our blog have seen Kristen and Brian’s fabulous faces before. We shot their engagement session last winter, and we shot their record-breaking-awesome wedding in July.  At some point during the wedding planning process, they told us about this place where they carved their names when they were like 15 years old.  They thought it would be really cool to go back (12 years later) in their wedding clothes, to the spot where they carved their names and have us take some shots there!  Isn’t that just the most adorable thing you’ve ever heard?  They are such amazing people, and so much fun to work with, so we were absolutely head-over-heels excited about shooting another session with them!

These types of sessions are most commonly referred to as “trash the dress” sessions; but, I really don’t think that term describes what we were doing at all.  Honestly?  The dress didn’t get any dirtier that it did on the actual wedding day, so there was no “trashing” going on whatsoever.  Since this was our first couple who were willing (brave enough) to throw their wedding day clothes back on and hang out with us for an awesome post-wedding photo session, we are officially naming it “rock the dress” in honor of Kristen, because she rocked that dress like whoa.

If you were previously one of those brides who thought they would never put the dress back on for something like this, perhaps the following photos will change your mind…

This spot was the foundation upon which this entire shoot was built.  We’ve seen the original high-school version of this shot, and while it’s definitely adorable, I think our version wins.  I love it!  It’s perfect; definitely an important part of a wildly romantic love story, with a very happy ending.  :)

    Jenn & Ben,
These photos are absolutely beautiful. You guys are only getting better and better! These are so editorial, they honestly should be published. I’m loving the contrast of the lacey dress to the train tracks. Simply stunning.

Your pictures are poetic and stunning is just not a strong enough word to depict the beauty of this bride, I remember the engagement shots at the train station, too. It’s so romantic that these are scenes that have carried special meanings throughout their relationship and now the memories have been captured so artistically. Salut.
