I can’t remember the last time I had this much difficulty with selecting photos for a blog post!! It was soooo hard to narrow down my favorites! WHEW!! It took me forever, but I finally did it. :)
Eden and Rob are such amazingly kind, thoughtful, wonderful people – the kind of people that are super easy to photograph because their amazing-ness just beams through in every photo!
I usually start things off with the bride, but this time, we’ll start things off with some awesome shots of Rob and the guys, pre-ceremony. Ben pulled off some fantastic shots here…usually, I’m like “blah, blah, blah, shots of guys just hanging around, booooorrr-ing, yawn,” but, this time, it was super hard to choose!
I love this shot of Rob waiting for the limo.
This is such an awesome portrait of Rob! At this point in our season, I had been starting to nag Ben about taking awesome groom portraits…I guess he listened. Miracles never cease. ;)
And now….some bride action! I spent the morning at the home of Eden’s parents. Her father has THE COOLEST collection of old phone insulator thingys, which made for some great detail shots!
OKAY, OKAY, okay…I know these next two shots are similar, but they both tell different stories, and I love them both and couldn’t choose.
This guy was seriously slacking off on the job. Is he cute or what? He had no idea that Ben was taking this shot, which just makes it that much more awesome. :)
Eden’s father helps her off the limo bus, and the ceremony begins!
I love this shot. There are glass windows that separate the sanctuary of the church from the front entrance (vestibule??). I shot this through the glass, and caught the reflection of one of the front door stained glass panels. Cool…
Our next stop was UB North Campus for photos. It was a very cold day (for November), so taking photos (as planned) by UB’s Lake LaSalle was slightly questionable. Ben hopped on the limo to ride over with the wedding party, and I headed over to UB to try and figure out an indoor plan to keep everyone from freezing while still getting great shots!
I love this bouquet shot Ben took during his limo ride…GORGEOUS.
The limo made a few stops along the way, and Ben got to take some beautiful Eden and Rob shots. :)
Luckily, the UB Center for the Arts was open and WARM!! (FYI – trying to pull off a “jump shot” with a wedding party this large and with this many children is a lofty goal indeed. Needless to say, this was as good as it got, but I love it anyway. You had to be there to really appreciate what’s going on here.)
I honestly have no clue who recruited the poor marching band boys to be in the group shots, but they were kind enough to oblige. I blame it on the well stocked limo bus.
Harsh light and shadows in this shot, but I love it anyway.
After we wrapped things up at UB, we made our way over to the Ramada to get the party started! This was a wine-themed wedding, and the details were beautifully done – simple, understated elegance!
A few bride and groom portraits during cocktail hour…
A little first dance action…
It’s kind of rare that we include the parent dances in the blog posts, because we’re pretty limited with how many shots we can include (to keep our site loading quickly, etc); but, these were just too good to leave out.
DJ Eric Volk of Premier Sound kept the dance floor live all night long! If you’re still looking for a DJ, we highly recommend him…he’s the bomb.
We’ll leave you with a few of our favorite night shots. We did a few sets indoors because the temp outside was FRIGID, but Eden and Rob were brave enough to tackle an outdoor set, as well, and WE WERE THRILLED. The shot with the tree is one of our all-time favorites!
Eden and Rob – we can’t thank you enough for choosing us to be your wedding photographers! Being a part of your day was truly an honor. CONGRATULATIONS!! We wish you both all the very best! :)
