Every new wedding season gives me an opportunity to really think about who our clients are.  I have always known that they were people who love and value photography and art, but this year I have made a new realization.  Not only do the couples who choose to work with us rank awesome photography as a super high priority, but more often than not, they are kind of dreading the idea of spending four hours out of their wedding day posing for photos!  I’ll let you all in on a little secret – awesome wedding photography doesn’t have to take a huge chunk of time out of your day!  Kate and Justin’s wedding was a really great example of this.  Someday, I’ll write a post entirely devoted to this topic, but in the meantime, just know that approximately 95% of the photos you see in this post were taken without anyone having to pose at all, and that, my friends, is something that we’re very proud of.  :)

Kate and Justin are such a fun couple!  We enjoyed every bit of their wedding at The Avanti Mansion!  They were kind enough to share a few of their favorite memories of the day, so that we can share them with all of you!  Look for those throughout the post!

Justin:  “The first memory of the day that I have is when all the guys were at our apartment. We went outside to take pictures and after about 15 minutes, we decided that beer and hockey were much more entertaining.”
Kate:  “One of my first memories of the day was the moment before walking down the aisle with my dad.  Although he comes off to be such a tough guy, he’s a sap.  I loved it!”
Justin:  “The best memory I have is when Kate was walking down the aisle. I wasn’t nervous until I saw her. I told myself I wasn’t going to cry, which I didn’t, but was definitely close. She looked beautiful and it was hard not to get emotional.”
Kate:  “During the ceremony I got a chance to take a look around at all of the guests.  It was so amazing to see everyone’s faces and to realize that everyone is there to celebrate with you.”
Kate:  “During the ceremony the ring bearer, my nephew, Cavan, was hysterical. He kept messing with my Dad, doing the ‘I’ve got my eyes on you’ gesture, pointing his two fingers at his eyes then pointing to my dad.”
Justin:  “During the night I kept telling my best man, ‘Dude I am freakin’ married!’   The whole day seemed surreal.  I couldn’t believe that we were married after all the time spent talking about it and planning it.”
Kate:  “One of the best memories from the day that I will never forget is our first dance. We love Aaron Lewis and decided years ago that when we got married, we would dance to ‘Tangled Up in You.’  Actually dancing to the song that we’ve talked about for years is definitely something I will never forget.”

Justin:  “When Kate and I finally danced to our song, it was amazing. We had talked about it for so long and to finally get to do it was the best feeling.”

Kate:  “I usually think the generation dance is kind of cheesy, but for our wedding I realized how cool it actually is. The look on my Grandparents’ faces when they were there dancing the longest for being married was pretty amazing. My Nana talked about it for days.”

And, we’ll wrap up the post with a really great piece of advice from our awesome couple.  :)

“One thing we would say we wished we would’ve done was to stop and enjoy ourselves.  The day went by so quickly that we didn’t have much time to relax and have a good time.  I would definitely recommend that every bride and groom not worry so much about the stuff they are told they have to do, and just have fun!”
