We first met Lindsay and Craig as couple at their e-shoot, and it took about five minutes for us to feel like we’d already known them for years. Lindsay is sweet, kind, and easy going, and welcomed us into their home as if we were old friends. Craig is….well…Craig. You have to know him to really appreciate how awesome he is, but if we had to describe him in one word, it would be HILARIOUS. You can’t be around Craig for more than five minutes without him saying something that will make you want to roll on the floor laughing, which is, as far as we’re concerned, a very good quality for a person to have. We figured out pretty quickly that we were going to have a whole bunch of fun shooting these two on their wedding day, and they did not disappoint.
One thing we LOVE about this particular set of wedding photos is how much laughter we were able to capture. You can see it everywhere, throughout the entire day! Lindsay laughs, Craig laughs, they laugh with their families, they laugh with their friends, and most importantly, they laugh with each other, and if that isn’t the cornerstone of a good marriage, then I don’t know what is. ;)
“the most wasted of all days, is one without laughter.” – e.e. cummings
Both Lindsay and Craig were getting ready at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, so Ben and I got to start out the day at the same location, which is pretty rare, but always nice when it happens! All of Lindsay’s details were amazing – shoes, dress, jewelry, flowers – everything was absolutely STUNNING!
Then, we headed back inside for the signing of the marriage license and to get the ceremony rolling! Lindsay, you looked positively radiant walking down the aisle with your parents…seriously, so beautiful and happy…it was awesome to see! The chuppah was so fabulous looking, and the ceremony was perfect. :) Ben nabbed this amazing shot of L and C walking back up the aisle…look at those smiles! (Also, look at the hilariously bewildered photographer in the background…I crack myself up…my, what a looooong lens you have there!) When we walked into the reception space, we were blown away…no, really…I think it actually blew my hair back with its awesomeness. All of the details were spot-on elegant gorgeousness, and there were PIE POPS, to boot!! (Does anyone still say “to boot” these days, or is that just me? Oh well.) We had the great pleasure of working with, in our opinion, the most incredible planner/coordinator in Buffalo, Bonnie Gersh of The Party Line! We’ve worked with her several times now, and every event she gets her hands on ends up being pure perfection. If she had a website, I’d totally give you a link to it, but she doesn’t have one because…wait for it…she doesn’t need one. She’s that good. How awesome is that? ;) A little fun first dance action… …and a wonderfully moving speech given by Lindsay’s dad! My eyes welled up a bit, I cannot tell a lie. No Jewish wedding would be complete without………..that’s right, you guessed it, a little Hava Nagila!! And, this one was off the chain…peeps were gettin’ DOWN in the most celebratory way imaginable. How much do you love the shot of Craig in the chair? As much as we do? I thought so. ;) More laughter and more dancing…awesomeness. ;) I don’t think we mentioned that Lindsay and Craig had the most fabulous band EVER at their wedding. They’re called “Twilight,” and their home base is Rochester, NY, but they definitely travel all over the place for weddings. If you’re considering a band for your wedding, DEFINITELY give them a look – you won’t regret it! They’re the biz-omb. Lindsay, breakin’ it down…
We did manage to grab these two dancin’ machines for a few night shots, and we’re SO glad we did! The fountain lit up at night is unquestionably worth the trip. :)
Lindsay and Craig – thank you so very much for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day! We really enjoyed getting to know you both, and sharing in the laughter that you two create with such ease. We wish you both all the very best that life has to offer! Thank you for being such awesome people! – J + B :)
