I’m Jenn Ayres…storyteller, dreamer of big dreams, animal lover, eternal optimist, truth seeker, mover and shaker, banana bread baker. I believe in the power of gratitude. I believe that love can move mountains. I believe that there is beauty to be found in everything I see and everyone I meet.

As a photographer, my goal isn’t just to create beautiful images. Of course, I like pretty things just as much as the next girl, but that’s not what this is about for me. I want people to feel something when they look at my photographs. I want to capture authentic love – the kind that fills you up completely. I want to capture intense joy – the kind that simultaneously produces laughter and tears. I want to capture the entire essence of who you are as a person, as a couple, as a family. I want my images to tell your story in such detail, that your someday children will be able to pick up your wedding album and feel what you were feeling that day. I want them to know that love is their legacy.

I’m Ben Ayres – historian, teacher, idea man, strategist, nature lover, and framer of the BIG picture. Before I was a professional photographer, I was a landscape photographer. I would go out every chance I got, and photograph nature, architecture, sunsets, and cityscapes. I loved being able to document the world as I saw it. I have definitely brought my love of landscape photography into my wedding and portrait work. I still draw inspiration from nature when photographing couples and families. I like to step back when I’m shooting, and really look at the whole scene in front of me. I take it all in, and then compose a shot that reflects both the beauty of the surroundings, and the beauty of the people I’m photographing. Being a “photographer” is only part of what I do. The other part is making sure the couples and families I’m photographing have an awesome experience. I work hard to make sure my clients are comfortable, so they can look their absolute best. To me, being photographed should mean lots of laughter and an overall great time. That’s my goal for every session I shoot.

Why would we choose to specialize in weddings?  The answer to this question is what has driven our work for the past decade.  After the wedding day has come and gone, the photographs are all that remain.  The photographs will be there to tell your love story to your children and grandchildren.  They will hang on the walls and sit on the mantles of future generations.  You will pull them out countless times throughout your marriage to relive the story of your wedding day.  When you experience loss, you will go straight to your photographs for comfort and feel grateful that you have those moments with loved ones so beautifully preserved.  Your children will pull out your wedding album and point and smile, and ask questions about who you were before they came to be.  You will cherish these images forever, because looking at them can instantly transport you to a place in time when you felt overwhelmingly joyful.  Photographs are your link to the past.  By the very nature of what they are, they become a part of your history, your life story.  We believe that your life, your love, your story is worth preserving, and it is an honor above all honors to be able to do this work that we do.  We would love to tell your story, too!
